It’s time to make your passion a priority.
Desk Life Project is a blog and community all about productivity, confidence and healthy work life balance for creatives and those living the self-employed dream.
Written by me, Caitlin, along with a bunch of talented contributors, we’re here to encourage you to pursue your creative passion project and bring more balance and happiness into your life. Whether you want to say goodbye to your 9-5 and start your own business, improve your work life balance and productivity, work remotely from around the world, take a leap and change career, or develop the confidence to make achieving your life goals a top priority, you’ll find inspiration, advice and affordable resources here to help you make it happen for real.
At the time of writing this introduction, Desk Life Project has been online for less than a year, and already we have a strong community of people who are actively pursuing their passion in life. From awesome solo business owners to those travelling the world and making it work with only a laptop and a suitcase, I’m constantly hearing inspiring stories that I love to share with you, and hope that these stories, the (free!) resources on our shop, and the advice from our blog can encourage you to live a more creative, balanced life. I don’t want to go all ‘YOLO’ on you guys, but I will say this: life is just too short to spend time on things that don’t make you feel giddy with excitement every single day.
I came to this realisation after quitting my job in 2017 and working freelance as a copywriter. Friends began coming to me with questions about how to leave their job and go freelance themselves, and I learned that there are so many people who want to make a BIG change, and others who are already doing it. They’re taking a leap, changing their life plans, and their stories can be so inspiring to others. So, I set out to create a community where they can share their ups and downs, and encourage others to go after what they want. The blog began as a side project while I was building my freelance business, and I’m thrilled that we’ve since launched a resource store, been chosen as a runner up in the Cosmopolitan Magazine Self Made Summit Pitch Palace competition, interviewed incredible business owners, and moved into an empowering coworking space in London – the one I’m pictured sitting in above (surrounded by excessive foliage, because who doesn’t love a plant or sixteen?)
