Having a healthy work life balance is just as important as feeling successful these days, and that’s where people like Nadia come in. Nadia is the founder of Work-Life Success, where she “teaches driven women to achieve more”. She’s passionate and knowledgeable when it comes to helping women make the very most of their home and work lives, and so it was only natural that we wanted to pick her brain about her business and how she maintains her own work life balance along the way.
Hi Nadia! Tell us about what you do at Work-Life Success.
I am the founder of Work-Life Success and I help driven women achieve more in their work and home lives by teaching proven productivity, organisation and time management strategies. I believe that you can have it all and you can achieve great things in your career and your personal life, and it’s my passion to help women do that.
Tell us about your background before you began the business. What motivated you to change direction?
I have always been very driven to succeed in life and have always set very high standards for myself.
This has meant that I have usually taken on more than most. Currently this includes: a successful corporate career, sole trader work, assisting in my family’s business, renovating a house, keeping up with my health and fitness goals, running a household, making time for family and friends, travelling often, and now also managing Work-Life Success.
In order for me to achieve everything I have to date and to also manage my day-to-day life, I have developed exceptionally effective productivity, time management and organisation strategies.
I’m passionate about helping others, so I chose to start Work-Life Success to share these strategies with other women to help them achieve big goals too.
What has been your proudest moment in business so far?
Probably the feedback that I have received from other women sharing how the strategies I have shared with them are helping them in their lives, and expressing their gratitude.
What’s the biggest lesson you have learned since starting your business?
To take one day at a time. I have SO many ideas of different projects I want to get stuck into working on for Work-Life Success, and new content to share with my audience. I have to remember that I can’t do everything at once, and just to be patient.
How do you stay organised? Any tips or tools?
Organisation is one of my key teachings!
My weekly planner and to-do list are my best friends. I make it a priority to always know where I am at with everything. Each day of my week is planned out to a tee so I know exactly where I need to be and what I am working on. I also try to find little pockets of time throughout my day that otherwise might be wasted, for example waiting for my dinner to cook or for the washing machine to finish to jam in smaller tasks.
Would you say you have a healthy work life balance? What do you do to maintain this?
Yes! Despite all of the things that I have going on (and continue to add to), I always make my work-life balance a priority.
Some of my favourite strategies are:
- Planning and committing to social events in advance. This will reduce the likelihood that I will be too tired or busy to attend a social event.
- Being disciplined with my work hours. If I’ve said I’m going to finish at a certain time, then I finish at this time unless there’s something super urgent.
- Plan holidays. I make it a habit to ensure I take at the very least, a weekend away (if not longer) every three months.
I have a free downloadable guide on 8 Ways To Achieve A More Successful Work-Life Balance if you’d like to learn more.
What do you have planned for your business and what are the next steps toward your goal?
I’m currently putting the final touches together to launch my first online course – super exciting!
I also have so many more content ideas and other online course ideas in the works, and I would also like to offer one-on-one coaching in the not too distant future! But one day at a time…
